This review is for the service portion and not the brewery, never been to that side. As a brand new dog Mom I was super nervous when doing research on where to bring my pup. I've heard of Lucky Dog for sure, but never had a reason to go before getting a pup. Once I did all my research they seemed like the best option for our boy and man we were not disappointed. We took our dog to get a full wash, trim, etc. We had just adopted him from the Humane Society and really wanted to pamper him and get him all cleaned up. First of all, the staff in the office is so kind and warm. You can tell they love dogs! That made us and our doggo a lot more relaxed for our first visit. They give you plenty of info and reassurance. When we picked him up he looked amazing!!! His coat was shining and he was all smiles. They also did a temperament test for him too, which was great because the Humane Society didn't have a lot of history for him so we didn't know how he'd do with other dogs. I love that they do the temperment test for free and give you a whole report card!!! Such a fun and helpful touch. Our dog loves it here. He never wants to leave when we pick him up lol. Thanks to their staff for being so helpful and sweet!

I've come here a lot over the past few years, but now that I'm back in Charlotte for a while, I feel like this place just gets a special place in my heart. Most everyone is very kind, including staff, and it's just a great place to be. Last time my sister and I came here a couple weeks ago, we were welcomed and were able to pet so many dogs. My own dog died in October and it just hasn't been the right time to get another dog in my heart. But I can still come to Lucky Dog and grab a drink while playing and petting other people's dogs with no judgement, just happiness. For ambiance, it's just a very kind place to go to where dog people unite. I usually get beer or kombucha here, and there's actually a really yummy non-alcoholic lavender lemon kombucha by Lenny Boy there for anyone looking for something non-alcoholic other than water. You can also play games like "what do you meme" or "jenga" here with friends, which is really fun. But also if you come by yourself just looking to pet some dogs, most people are very kind and don't care. They know that some people either can't have a dog right now, or their dog probably recently died. So it's my favorite dog bar in Charlotte because I feel like most everyone here, customers and staff, are pretty kind, and want you to pet their dog if their dog is sociable, without judgement. Will come back here again and again.

Love the spot for bringing my dogs! The staff is fantastic and the bar is great so that you can have a drink and appropriately supervise your dogs as they play. You can also order food from the food trucks and eat it outside. They also offer boarding which I haven't personally done but I've heard great things from my friends who have used those services lll Uhhhhhhgt

Fun spot! Came here for my first time last week on a Thursday night with a friend who had been here before, so she was able to show my dog and I the ropes. Unlike Skiptown, Luck Dog does not charge a cover--which is great, just be aware that you still need to confirm your dog's vaccination status (on the honor system, they don't formally check/validate anything). It's a nice space inside too--equal parts outside for when it's nice, and a fairly respectable indoor space as well. Great selection of draft beers, I was really really impressed. Heads up that parking can be a bit tight--luckily there's plenty of spaces in the lot across the street.

Really fun brewery for both dogs & humans!!! A fairly large area, equally covered (under an overhang) and uncovered. The area outside in the sun has umbrellas though, so there is a lot of shade. Lots of TVs (great if you enjoy sports on the weekends) and a large variety of drinks available. All alcohol was reasonably priced and there was no cover fee. Dogs are allowed to roam around off-leash; and (thankfully) there are no dog toys allowed. With that being said, the downfalls of this place are- 1. They don't actually check if your pet is vaccinated 2. Smoking is allowed outside 3. NO food available!! However, I did see in previous reviews that there are food trucks once in awhile.

This is a definite destination when my dog and I make the trip south to Charlotte. The dogs are super fun to watch. After a year of Covid isolation, my girl was rather shy and didn't know what to make of some of the bigger, rambunctious dogs. Still she got to play in the small dog section and most owners were good at supervising. Again, there is no place such as Lucky Dog where I live. It's fun and drinks were good.
